Our 2011 corn maze is another spectacular Rob Stouffer design. Waypoints in this year's maze recognize LaPlata High School accomplishments in scholastics, athletics, and the planned FFA program. A functioning steam train whistle is symbolic of the LaPlata community train heritage. Plan on approximately 45-60 minutes to wander through the entire maze. In addition, enjoy a kid's corn maze, too!
A Little History about our Corn Mazes Our first corn maze was created in 2008 when Jackson Country Connections was home to the world's first steam engine corn maze. Rob Stourffer of PrecisionMazes.com developed the steam engine as our first corn maze. The steam engine was a perfect theme given the rich railroad history of LaPlata. Since then we have continued to work with Rob and each year's new maze continues to be one of our most popular attractions.
In 2009, we continued the train maze theme, but in 2010 we our design was based on the year's theme of Animal Care. We will again have a variety of waypoint signs located at strategic positions within the maze. The signs will address animal care and corn production.
Several waypoints are "hidden" within each of our mazes to make it more interesting (and educational) for the kids. It can be a challenge to try and find them all. Ask us about customizing the waypoint signs specifically for your group. It is a great way to build culture and add a personal touch to your event.
